The 21st International AIDS Conference will be held in Durban, South Africa from 18 to 22 July, 2016 under the theme Access Equity Rights Now. Although the global AIDS response has reached phenomenal goals over the past decade, a number of challenges remain.

In 2014/15, The International Community of Women Living with HIV Eastern Africa (ICWEA) conducted a study on violations of sexual reproductive health and rights of women with a focus on forced and coerced sterilization in Uganda. This study provided more evidence to show that sexual reproductive health and rights of women living with HIV are violated in clinical and community settings in Uganda. Moreover, similar violations have been reported in other countries such as Kenya and Namibia.

When the sexual reproductive health and rights of women living with HIV are unmet or abused, their ability to manage their HIV care and overall health outcomes is hindered.

Will you help us protect the sexual reproductive health and rights of women living with HIV?
