2015
marks the 24th year of the 16 Days of Activism (November 25 – December 10) against gender-based violence.  In the wake of  the release of research findings by ICWEA that found that women living with HIV face a wide range of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights violations, this campaign is of great importance to us.

ICWEA will use this period to amplify the recently launched campaign “A beat to end Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights violations, HIV criminalization and widening of contraception choices and options for women living with HIV”. We need to beat the drum so loud to end these violations.

Throughout the next 16 Days, ICWEA will share findings from the report titled “Violations of Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) of Women living with HIV in Clinical and Community Settings in Uganda”. We will share stories of women living with HIV who have faced coerced and/or coerced sterilization and recommendations on how to bring these injustices to an end.
